WINTER OLYMPICS 2018

If you're like me, you've been watching a lot of Olympic games these days.

Although I could do without so much curling, I do marvel at the athletes and their dare devil skills in events such as snowboarding and free style skiing. 

I also enjoy the beauty of the ice dancing, the thrill of downhill skiing and the roller derby tactics used in short track speed skating.

One commentator suggested that each sport include one non athlete just to help us appreciate the excellence of these Olympians. I can't imagine how many times I'd be lapped in a 5,000 metre long track speed skate. 

In all, the Winter Olympics boast 102 events involving 2,952 athletes from 92 countries.

Quite a winter spectacular but I really think they could use a few fun sports like tobogganing, snow man building, snow ball throwing and making outdoor rinks.

Now those are events I really could compete in.
