GOOD FRIDAY 2021

Father Lewis gave me lots to think about with his talk on the meaning of the Crucifixion. In truth, I've come to think that the Crucifixion of Jesus speaks a different and unique message to anyone who believes in the Cross.

A good friend of ours is about to hear about her cancer prognosis.
Linda's cross is all about anticipation.

A former colleague lives with a chronic and devastating health condition.
Phillips's cross is about pain.

A kind neighbor of ours is slowly recovering after being hit by a car.
Varda's cross is having to trade her active life
for one that relies on a walker.

My eighty-six-year old hockey friend lives alone and in failing health.
Ed's cross has to do with humble acceptance.

Larry's widow is steadily rebuilding her life.
Anne's cross is about coping with loss.

I often struggle to put the agenda of others ahead of my own.
My cross is in accepting, 'Thy will be done."

May you reflect on your meaning of your ctoss this day.
