With summer winding down, seems everyone is in a bit of a frenzy to squeeze as much life into these next few weeks as possible.
We began the summer visiting my daughter Janice and her family as they settled into their new house on the July long weekend. We plan a return visit this Sunday as the grandkids there are about to return to school. Seems French schools in the Ottawa area follow the lead of schools in Quebec beginning classes a week before those in Ontario.
One of the things I do in preparation for our trip is to make a batch of caramel corn. Seems that's a tradition my grandchildren won't let go.
Reminds me of my spaghetti sauce that Terry praised when I first made it over twenty years ago. "That's so delicious, Mike. I could never make a sauce that good," she cooed.
Clever lady....I'm still mister spaghetti sauce to this day.
The actual process for making caramel corn is quite simple. Make some popcorn, drizzle a caramel sauce over it, and presto...you've got yourself a delightful treat.
I'm happy to share the recipe if you like.
But please realize, I take no responsibility for chipped fillings, cracked braces or broken dentures.
