JEOPARDY 2024

It's time to look back over the past twelve months, a tumultuous year in many ways. I note in particular our own city of Toronto were the chasm is impossibly wide between concert goers who can pay up to $3,000 for a ticket and those who have to line up at food banks.

I used to take comfort in the fact that everyone could enjoy a good sporting event on TV until Prime recently muscled in and absconded with our Monday night hockey games. Netflix has announced a similar hijacking of some NFL football through 2026.

At least my Jeopardy quiz is for everyone. Prizes include homemade strawberry jam, caramel corn and twisting balloons.

Here goes. Good luck!

1. His quest for 70 fell one short.

2. It occurred in April here. The next one happens in 2144 in the Toronto area.

3. The mastermind behind free trade agreement in Canada passed away at age 84.

4. 39% of Canadians watched this 2-1 game in June.

5. A duct-taped banana sold for this much in November.

6. One billion dollars were needed to restore this 11th-century place of worship.

7. Our Northern Star Award winner dazzled in Paris.

9. Plains Georgia had a special celebration for this native son in October.
