THE HIDDEN SEVEN EIGHTS

Terry’s brother continues to struggle.

After a short respite from his high fever and breathing problems, Tommy is in peril once again.

Terry continues to be a source of strength for Tom who must wonder why he must suffer so. We all feel the same way and hope that new medications will soon bring some relief.

Tom’s sister Karen is making plans to fly in from California if things don’t show signs of improvement soon.

Terry came home from the hospital late last night talking about icebergs. I couldn’t figure out what she was saying about until she explained,

“Only about one eight of an iceberg can be seen above water. That reminds me of Tommy. Even though his essence is only partially visible, I know there is so much more to him beneath the surface. At times during his illness, I have seen glimpses of that hidden seven eights.”

I think I know what she means and I marvel to think that the below water part of Tom is just as pristine as the part above the surface.

We continue to pray that Tommy can be more peaceful and that God can make a quick decision about what He wants to have happen here.
