The past twelve months have been so challenging for everyone; no need to belabor that. We've all had to adapt.
Early on, when Terry and I would food shop online, we'd sometimes run out of staples like fruit or bread. My oversight to order milk one week necessitated my drinking tea without anything to lighten it.
Surprise! I really liked it that way.
More recently, I realized my morning coffee was tasting more like a caramel bar than a warm beverage; I suppose cream and maple syrup had everything to do with that. I thought about my tea epiphany and wondered if I'd been deluding myself in the process of diluting my coffee.
So I decided to first abandon the maple syrup. Actually that was the easy part as we'd used it all up on some French toast. Next the cream. I knew I couldn't leap directly into black coffee waters so slowly I cut back on the cream, my morning drink getting darker and darker.
After about a week, another little miracle. I was enjoying the natural coffee taste after years of trying to cover it up. Makes me wonder if I have any other habits that might be the product of my over indulgence or mislearning. Yes, maybe salt is next on my hit list.
But please, please don't tell me there's anything wrong with putting vinegar on my French fries.
