Like so many, Terry and I have been isolated from the rest of our family for months now.
Thanks to our vaccinations two weeks ago, we were able to visit our daughter Carolyn and her young family today for the first time since mid-December.
Four months is a lifetime when you're talking about toddlers. Thirteen month old Patrick is now walking and able to feed himself at mealtimes. His older brother Elliott, almost three now, is looking more school-ready than ever.
Thankfully, they hadn't forgotten us, our Zoom sessions somehow keeping their memories alive. We even got to re-celebrate Patrick's first birthday with a special cake for the occasion.
After a few days, we'll be off to Ottawa and Janice's family and soon thereafter, we'll do some catching up with my son's in Stoney Creek.
Busy time but we wouldn't have it any other way.
And we have lots of energy in reserve.
After all, we've been in hibernation as long as most black bears this past winter.
