Terry and I received our second dose of the Pfizer vaccine this afternoon. As of June 8, about 8% of Canadians are now fully vaccinated.
We are feeling both relieved and privileged; relieved to now be relatively safe from the virus and privileged to be cared for ahead of so many others, especially those in the Third World.
I also question the wisdom of vaccinating young people aged 12 - 21 in our country before adults in countries like India and Africa and I am very aware of how the news cycle seems to have dropped these needy countries from our sight in recent weeks.
I was fortunate after the first Pfizer dose with no side effects of any kind.
Just hope I can be as lucky again this time around.
After all, I've got a big online bridge game tonight at 9 pm!
