I did a bit of investigating and discovered a 12' by 6' by 4' container would be about right for all the old cupboards, countertops and benches from our 50+ year-old kitchen.
In an effort to reduce the load, I dragged one of the old cupboards to the road last garbage day. Almost magically, a truck soon appeared. As I helped the friendly garbage man hoist the cabinet into the back of the truck, he asked,
"Do you have any more?"
"Do I?" I replied, a bit stunned. "How much will you take?"
The muscular man replied with a smile,
"We can take a pile as big as a small car. You get it out to the road and we'll take it. "
My tax dollars at work!
I realize that in many jurisdictions, there's a definite limit to the amount of garbage one can put out. Not here! I was delighted for a moment until I realized...... I won't get my dumpster.
Definitely a first-world problem.
In fact, I've decided to cross dumpsters off my bucket list once and for all.
