Terry and I have taken to the outdoor pickleball courts this month, with the beautiful weather making it perfect for a few friendly games.
Thanks to a well-timed injection in my knee, I’m almost as good as new this summer.
A generous elderly couple in Markham have kindly offered their backyard tennis court to local neighbours and friends who want to drop by for a game every Tuesday evening. I’m not quite sure how we qualified, but Terry and I have thoroughly enjoyed our games with new friends as well as the country-club feel of the palatial property.
With all the talk of tariffs and war these days, this unexpected act of generosity feels especially welcome—and restorative.
It does make me wonder, though: does anyone want to borrow my bike or some old Calculus books?
Indeed, each of us can help keep this whole wheel spinning.
