Today is known as Pi Day because March 14 is the fourteenth day of the third month, that is, 3/14
More significantly, this current Pi Day is a once in a century event because 2015 makes today's date 3/14/15...the first five digits of pi.
And, if you can handle it, at 9.26 am and pm, the official date is 3/14/15/9.26...the first eight digits of this quirky number.
Wow!
If you're a number nerd like me, that calls for a celebration.
May I suggest a slice of cherry pie this morning and a piece of raisin pie tonight.
