WELCOME LITTLE ONE

Today, we are so happy to welcome Patrick Daniel into our family, a second child for our daughter Carolyn and her husband Chris and a little brother for 22 month old Elliott.

I don't think Elliott understands the full import of what's happening just yet but I'm sure that in the future, he and Patrick will come to appreciate the special gift of being siblings with such amazing and loving parents.

A few months ago I wrote this little poem on Elliott's behalf in anticipation of this special day.

                                      HI BABY!

My name is Elliott
And I’m your big brother.
Can’t wait for you to meet me
And your mother and your father.

You’ll like mom and dad
 They give plenty of cuddles.
Mom makes you smile
Dad keeps you from trouble.

You’ll like playing with my toys
 I’ll share them with you.
With blocks and a kitchen set
There’s so much to do.

You’ll like spaghetti a lot
 It’s so very yummy.
It will feel so good
 In your little tummy.

And avocado and tofu
You’ll like them too.
We’ll eat them
Whenever we go to the zoo.

You’ll like Uncle Derek’s pool
It’s fun to splash and play.
Then eat outside at the big table
It’s always a great day.

You’ll like going to the park
The slides are such fun.
And when you’re big enough
We can jump and we’ll run.

I like to play hide and seek
I know that you do too,
Sitting in mommy’s tummy
With nothing much else to do.

I’ll give you my bed
Heck!  Even my room,
As well as my car seat
If you’ll come very soon.

So hurry up and get out
I’m waiting for you,
We’ll be best friends forever
In all that we do!
