Our streets are quiet again, the large crowds are gone.
For the past four weeks, our neighborhood had become a Christmas spectacle. From 5 pm on, cars and foot traffic would abound as people were drawn by an amazing light show just around the corner from our house. Apparently, Wild Cherry Lane had been rated one of the top five Christmas light shows in the GTA.
I suppose the 100,000 lights synchronized to music had a lot to do with it.
The very good news is that a donation box had collected over $20,000 for local charities.
However, due to the Covid lockdown that went in effect on December 26, the light show has been drastically modified from what you see below.. It will likely return next year, hopefully on a smaller scale because, to be honest, living next to a midway just isn't for me.
